10 Fall 2026 Trends, Shopped for Every Budget
Minimal or maximal, splurge or save, here’s where I’d actually spend money this season.
I spent days reading every Fall 2026 trend report I could find, expecting the usual: a tidy list of things that everyone has agreed on.
Instead I found two seasons happening at once.
One direction went minimal: sharp blazers, pared back everything, not a ruffle in sight. The other went the opposite way: brocade, embroidery, capes, romantic and a little unhinged. Purple showed up in both, which was somehow the least confusing part of all this.
Nobody actually picked a side this season. So instead of one long list, I split it by camp: one if you lean minimal and one if you want to embrace opulent maximalism.
The Minimalist Camp
Statement collars, tuxedo dressing and coats without a single embellishment. Sheer stuck around too, thank goodness, wether in a mesh panel under a blazer or a slip layered under something structured. If you love clean lines and simple palettes, this is your fall.
Statement collars. Spotted at: Proenza Schouler, Carolina Herrera and Coach. Whether tall or folded, dramatic collars were carrying an otherwise plain shirt or coat.
Tuxedo dressing. Spotted at: Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen and Michael Kors. Sharp lapels, satin trim and a slightly rebellious edge.
Pared-back basics. Spotted at: Prada, Jil Sander and Calvin Klein. No prints, no fuss, just good fabric doing all the talking.
Sheer and translucent layering. Spotted at: Miu Miu, Victoria Beckham and Tom Ford. Mesh, chiffon and a layer that reveals just enough.
Oversized, clean-lined outerwear. Spotted at: Balenciaga, Max Mara and Loewe. Big shoulders, longer hemlines and coats built for drama.
The Maximalist Camp
Heavy texture and brocade, capes and vintage-style knits that look like they were handed down to you. This is the side I’ve been rooting for. I want an embroidered jacket and a brocade skirt that makes noise when I walk. If you’ve been missing some drama in your closet, welcome back.
Statement texture, brocade and embroidery. Spotted at: Dior, Chloé and Dries Van Noten. Heavy fabric, raised patterns and serious embellishment.
Romantic ruffles, lace and bows. Spotted at: Valentino, Givenchy and Chanel. Soft, feminine and unapologetically extra.
Vintage-style knits. Spotted at: Marni, Altuzarra and Acne Studios. Chunky, patterned and pulled straight from a family photo album.
Dramatic outerwear: fur, shearling and capes. Spotted at: Burberry, Fendi and Ralph Lauren. Collars, linings and capes doing the most.
Purple. Spotted at: Mugler, Tory Burch and Ferragamo. Deep, moody shades showing up on everything from blazers to gowns.
And now for the good part. I’ve done the heavy lifting and scoured the internet to find pieces you can buy now before they start selling out. Every trend gets three picks below: one splurge, one mid-range and one for those of us watching our budget this season.
